Description

The Bethlehem Chapel, a national cultural monument, holds great historical significance as the birthplace of the Hussite cause. Here, Jan Hus preached from 1402 to 1412 and catalyzed the Reform movement. Every year, on the eve of the anniversary of Hus's burning at the stake in 1415 (5 July), a memorial is held at the chapel with speeches and bell-ringing. This solemn event pays tribute to the legacy of the Karolinum rector's effort to reform the church.
