Encompassing one of the world's largest castles

The Castle District (Hradcany) surrounds Prague Castle, which is rather expansive in its own right. Made up of several historic buildings that span a number of architectural styles and purposes, the district dates back to the 9th century. At the center, you'll find the St. Vitus Cathedral.

A number of historic palaces from the days of nobility are also found at the Castle District (Hradcany), making it one of the most culturally rich places to learn of Prague's history. Here you'll also find several other attractions, most of which are peaceful and great for looking out over the city.
