Description

Built by Giovanni Maria Filippi in 1613 for the German Lutherans

Church of Our Lady Victorious (Kostel Panny Marie Vitezne) first Baroque church in Prague (built 1611 to 1613) belongs to the Barefooted Carmelites, an order that cares for the doll-like, miracle-working 400-year-old Bambino di Praga.

The effigy, brought from Spain to Prague in the 17th century, is said to have protected nuns from the plague. A wardrobe of over 60 outfits have been changed by the Order of English Virgins at sunrise on selected days for around 200 years.
