Description
Kampa is situated in the most peaceful part of Prague's city centre and is bordered by the Vltava and Čertovka (Devil's Stream). The area derives its name from the Latin word 'campus', meaning 'field', as it was formerly a farmland. In the 13th century, the Sovovský mlýn (Kampa Museum today) was built here and the area subsequently saw an influx of other mills.
