Established in 1900 as part of a larger European effort to restore the aesthetic values that had been neglected in the wake of the Industrial Revolution, this museum was once a charming old building filled with Czech glass, furniture, tapestries and clothing from past centuries. Unfortunately, the museum underwent a complete transformation and modernization in the late 2000s, to the chagrin of some, and is currently only hosting temporary exhibits, with its permanent collection yet to be reinstalled.
