Description

Atop Petřín Hill lies a 62-metre tower, constructed in 1891 by the Czech Hikers Club who, after visiting Paris, were so taken with the French capital's architecture that they wanted to recreate something similar back home. This tower remained Prague's main television mast until the Žižkov Tower was launched in 1992. Climb the 299 steps (or take the lift) to the top for some of the best views in the city – with clear skies, you can even spot the forests of Central Bohemia and beyond to the southwest.
