Description

In 1140, Strahov Monastery was founded by Vladislav II to house the Premonstratensian order. While much of the present buildings were completed in the 17th and 18th centuries, they were shut down and the monks imprisoned by the communist government. However, the monks returned in 1990. Today, Strahov Library is the main attraction of this stunning monastery.
